LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), February 13 (SeeNews) – Slovenia's gross foreign debt totalled 43.3 billion euro ($46.1 billion) at the end of 2016, up 0.3% compared to a month earlier, preliminary central bank data showed on Monday.
Net external debt rose to 10.04 billion euro at end-December, from 9.98 billion euro at end-November, the data indicated.
General government gross foreign debt edged up 0.7% on the month, reaching 21.6 billion euro at end-December, while the debt of the central bank jumped to 3.5 billion euro from 2.8 billion euro.
The debt of deposit-taking corporations, excluding the central bank, decreased 2.8% to 4.1 billion euro, the debt of the non-financial sector dropped 3.2% to 10.7 billion euro, and intercompany lending fell 5.9% to 3.5 billion euro.
