May 23 (SeeNews) - Slovenia’s consumer confidence indicator declined by 1 percentage point in May, after gaining two percentage points a month earlier, the country's statistics office said on Monday.
The indicator worsened due to more pessimistic expectations of the general economic situation in Slovenia, household finances and the suitability for saving - with each segment down by 3 percentage points on the month, the office said in a statement.
Compared to the same period last year, consumer confidence was down 8 points this month after ending 5 points lower in April.
The value at the annual level was effected mostly by a falling general outlook on the economic situation in the country (by 15 percentage points), suitability for saving (by 11 percentage points) and the financial situation of households (by 10 percentage points).
The consumer confidence index fell 7 points short of last year's average.
