February 3 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's trade balance deficit expanded to 3.835 billion euro ($4.199 billion) in 2022, from 2.584 billion euro in the previous year, the country's statistical office said.
Exports in 2022 grew 34.2% on the year to 52.921 billion euro, while imports rose 36.6% to 56.757 billion euro, the statistical office, SURS, said in a statement.
The European Union was Slovenia’s main trading partner in 2022, absorbing 32.440 billion euro of the country's exports and providing 34.146 billion euro of its imports.
In December alone, Slovenia's exports went up 24.4% on the year to 4.0 billion euro, while imports grew 4.8% to 4.434 billion euro, resulting in a 434.0 million euro trade deficit for the month.
