PODGORICA (Montenegro), October 5 (SeeNews) – Slovenian companies are interested in project opportunities in Montenegro, especially in the country's power sector, local media reported, quoting the managing director of Korona, a Slovenian provider of consulting and engineering services for the energy industry.
"We are especially interested in renewable energy and small hydro power plants," local daily Pobjeda (www.pobjeda.co.me) reported on Sunday, quoting Bostjan Strmcnik.

All decisions will be made on a case-to-case basis, depending on Korona's capabilities, Strmcnik also said, not ruling out possible involvement in the construction of a hydro power plant on the Moraca river as well as wind and solar power generation facilities.
Montenegro imports over a third of its annual power consumption, which exceeds four billion kilowatt hours. The country has installed power capacities of 868 megawatts. Almost two thirds of its electricity output is produced by the two big hydro power stations, Perucica and Piva, and around one third is contributed by its sole thermal power plant TE Pljevlja.
