April 1 (SeeNews) - Romanian producer of seeds, nuts and dehydrated fruits Golden Foods Snacks said on Friday it plans to increase the current number of its customers five times by the end of 2022, after signing an agreement with PepsiCo Romania for the distribution of some of its products in January.
PepsiCo is currently distributing sunflower seeds, peanuts, pistachios, cashews and almonds under Golden Food's Elmas brand, Golden Foods said in a statement filed with the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB.
In the first two months of collaboration with PepsiCo Romania, Golden Foods Snacks tripled its distribution volume on the local market, compared to the previous year.
PepsiCo, Inc. is a U.S.-based multinational food, snack, and beverage corporation which generated more than $79 billion (71 million euro) in revenue in 2021. PepsiCo entered Romania in 2004, after buying local potato chips producer Star Foods. At the end of 2020, PepsiCo Romania employed 1,800, according to its website.
Golden Foods Snacks was established in 2009 and started trading on the BVB's multilateral trading system (MTS) in February 2021.
Its shares changed hands 0.50% higher at 101.5 lei ($22.7/20.5 euro) at 1159 CET on Friday.
