April 18 (SeeNews) - Romanian spirits importer BDG said on Thursday it has added William Grant & Sons to its portfolio, becoming the UK-based company's sole distributor in Romania.
BDG Import estimates that William Grant beverages will contribute a turnover of up to 55 million lei ($11.8 million/11.1 million euro) in the first year of local distribution, it said in a press release. The company plans to double the volume of its William Grant & Sons portfolio in the first three years.

Founded in 1887, William Grant & Sons is a family-owned distiller, producing some of the world's leading brands of whisky as well as spirits.
BDG Import was founded in 1994 and has since introduced world-renowned beverages of all types to Romania, including beers, energy drinks, champagne wines, and spirits. In 2023, the company booked a turnover of 365 million lei, it said.
