December 28 (SeeNews) - Only two of the Romanian stock indices lost ground on Friday while the others rose amid higher turnover, bourse data indicated.
The blue-chip BET index of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, BVB [BSE:BVB], added 0.41% to 5,149.56 points.
The BET-BK, which tracks the 25 most traded companies on the bourse, including the blue chips and the five regional investment funds, the SIFs, increased 0.71% to 1,059.46 points.
The BET-FI, which tracks the SIFs and property restitution fund Fondul Proprietatea [BSE:FP], edged down 0.20% to 25,375.38 points.
The composite BET-C index advanced 0.54% to 2,786.11 points.
The ROTX index of Romania's 15 most liquid stocks, a joint index of the Bucharest bourse and the Vienna Stock Exchange, shed 0.25% to 10,377.42 points.
BVB's total equity turnover climbed to 22.8 million lei ($6.8 million/5.1 million euro), including four block deals worth a combined 4.6 million lei, from 19.4 million lei on Thursday. Trading in bonds totalled 56.2 million lei.
SIF Transilvania [BSE:SIF3] was the most traded stock on Friday, gaining 1.43% to 0.7115 lei in deals worth 4.3 million lei. SIF Transilvania increased the most among SIFs.
Romania's power grid operator Transelectrica [BSE:TEL] was the top blue-chip gainer, jumping 10.35% to 12.69 lei in turnover worth 1.9 million lei, Friday's fourth-largest. Transelectrica said on Friday Romania's energy regulator has approved a 12.73% rise in the electricity transmission tariff to 21.16 lei per megawatt hour (MWh) as of January 1, a move that is expected to have a positive impact on the operator's revenues.
SIF Oltenia [BSE:SIF5] was the top SIF loser, falling 1.47% to 1.403 lei in 1.2 million lei turnover.
The BET-XT index, which tracks the 25 most liquid companies on the bourse, picked up 0.05% to 486.44 points.
The BET-NG, which includes companies from the energy sector and utilities, climbed 2.53% to 628.34 points.
Rasdaq-C, the composite index of the over-the-counter market RASDAQ, lost 0.61% to 1,414.79 points. RASDAQ turnover grew to 1.3 million lei from 450,900 lei on Thursday.
