November 15 (SeeNews) - Romanian fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) distribution and logistics company Aquila [BSE:AQ] said on Tuesday that its net profit rose 47% year-on-year to 64 million lei ($13.6 million/13 million euro) in the first nine months of 2022.
Revenues increased by an annual 12% to 1.543 billion lei during January-September, driven by the increase in distribution revenues and the company's acquisition of Moldovan distribution company Trigor, it said in a report filed with the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
The company's assets amounted to 934.5 million lei at end-September, up 12% when compared to end-2021.
"We continue our positive evolution, with a new quarter of growth and improved margins, although we continue to operate in an unpredictable market context, with macroeconomic and geopolitical influences that bring accents of instability," Aquila CEO Catalin Vasile said.
Aquila was established in 1994 as an entity specialized in integrated services of distribution of consumer goods and logistics, currently employing some 3,000 people. In 2021, the company booked a net profit of 71 million lei, up 30% on the year, and a turnover of 1.93 billion lei, up 13%, data from the finance ministry showed.
Blue-chip Aquila's shares traded 1.03% lower at 0.5740 lei as of 1348 CET on Tuesday on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
