December 23 (SeeNews) - Romanian state-owned flag carrier TAROM has reported a 9.4% annual drop in the number of passengers it carried in January-October this year to 1.347 million, the Association of European Airlines (AEA) said on Wednesday.
TAROM’s passenger load factor was 55.8% through October, down 7.7 percentage points from a year ago, AEA said in a report.
In October alone, TAROM transported 153,500 passengers, up by 1.5% from a year ago. The passenger load factor for the month was 57.3%, 0.7 percentage points lower than in October 2008.
AEA is the organisation of 33 European carriers which transport collectively 366 million passengers and 7 million tonnes of cargo each year. They operate 2,617 aircraft serving 662 destinations in 162 countries with a combined 11,585 flights a day.
