- Romanian furniture producer and retailer Mobexpert hopes its sales in 2010 and 2011 will not fall below this year's level, company's president Dan Sucu said. This year's sales are expected to match the level recorded in 2007, after they fell by 15%-17% in the second and third quarters of 2009.
MEDIAFAX
- The impact of ageing population on public finance in Romania is one of the highest among EU member states and the country has one of the most unsustainable pension systems in Europe, Romanian private pension association APAPR said, citing a report by the European Commission. Romania's pension expenses will increase from 8.4% of gross domestic product in 2010 to 15.8% of GDP in 2060, the report showed.
- Romania and Moldova could sign a small-scale border traffic agreement by the end of 2009, the agency said quoting reports by Moldovan media. The agreement stipulates visa-free access to Romania for Moldovan citizens living not farther than 50 kilometers from the Moldovan-Romanian border.

- The current exchange rate of 4.3 lei per euro is too high and a rate of 4.0 lei per euro will be more profitable for the Romanian economy now, analysts said.
