February 7 (SeeNews) - The number of new residential buildings completed in Bulgaria in the last quarter of 2022 grew by 32% year-on-year to 1,613, the statistical office said on Tuesday.
The total usable space of newly built dwellings in the fourth quarter increased by an annual 19% to 631,461 sq m, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
The highest number of residential buildings completed, 296, was registered in the capital Sofia, followed by the cities of Plovdiv and Varna, with 232 and 182 buildings, respectively.
Houses represented 81% of all new residential buildings completed in the fourth quarter of last year, while apartment buildings accounted for 13%, the statement added.
