April 4 (SeeNews) - The Montenegrin anti-trust agency said it has launched an investigation into the three telecoms operators in the country - Crnogorski Telekom, One, and M:tel - regarding potential collusion within the prepaid service market.
In a statement published earlier this week, the agency has called on anyone with relevant information to provide it.
The watchdog didn't offer further details.
According to a report by daily Vijesti, the competition agency is investigating the simultaneous increase of the minimum top-up amount for pre-paid services by all three operators on April 1, 2024. The probe was initiated based on a recommendation from the national telecommunications regulator, EKIP, the report said.
At the end of February, M:tel (part of Telekom Srbija group) had a 37.62% share of the overall number of mobile subscribers in the country, followed by Crnogorski Telekom (controlled by Croatia's Hrvatski Telekom) with 36.06% and One (part of Hungary's 4iG) with 26.33%, EKIP data shows.
