SOFIA (Bulgaria), March 30 (SeeNews) – Hourly labour costs in Bulgaria and Romania in 2014 stood at 3.8 euro ($4.1) and 4.6 euro, respectively - the lowest in the European Union, the bloc's statistics office said on Monday.
Among EU member states outside the euro area and expressed in national currency, the largest increase, of an annual 6.0%, in hourly labour costs in 2014 was registered in Romania, while the only decrease, of 0.8%, was recorded in Croatia, Eurostat said.

Slovenia joined the EU in 2004, Romania and Bulgaria followed suit in 2007 and Croatia became the bloc's 28th member on July 1, 2013. The EU formally opened accession talks with Serbia in January 2014.
