PRISTINA (Kosovo), September 2 (SeeNews) – The net profit of Kosovo's banking sector increased to 48.8 million euro ($53.6 million) in the first seven months of 2019, from 47.7 million euro in the like period of last year, Kosovo's central bank said.
The outstanding loan portfolio of Kosovo's banks expanded by 10.9% year-on-year to 2.96 billion euro at the end of July, the central bank said in a monthly report on Friday.
Deposits increased by 12.2% on the year, reaching 3.5 billion euro at the end of July.
The Kosovo banking system's total assets grew to 4.36 billion euro as at the end of July from 3.95 billion euro a year earlier.
Return on assets (ROA) fell to 2.0%, from 2.1%. Return on equity also dropped, to 16.5% from 16.9%.
The figures comprise the financial results of 10 Kosovo banks. Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo and ProCredit Bank are the largest among them in terms of assets.
