September 26 (SeeNews) - The Kosovo government has approved the allocation of 10 million euro ($10.6 million) to provide subsidies for households purchasing energy-efficient heating devices.
Last week, the government announced the start of subsidy applications for various energy-efficient solutions, including heat pumps, high-efficiency inverter-type air-to-air heat pumps for climate control, biomass boilers using wood, pellets, or briquettes, as well as individual biomass stoves for heating and cooling purposes.
This initiative aims to advance energy efficiency in Kosovo and is receiving support in the form of grants from the European Union. It is part of the energy emergency response package, which allocates a total of 75 million euro to Kosovo, with 20 million euro designated for the country's energy efficiency fund. These funds will be used for subsidies, including residential thermal insulation projects.
Application for the subsidies are open until November 2022.
