September 21 (SeeNews) - Germany's automotive steering technology provider Willi Elbe said on Wednesday it has opened a nine-million euro ($10 million) production plant in Bulgaria, the company's first in the southeast European country.
The plant, located in an industrial zone near Bulgaria's second largest city of Plovdiv, will manufacture steering components for BMW and Mercedes-Daimler truck series, as well as cardan shafts for BMWs, Willi Elbe said in a press release.
The parts manufactured in the new plant will be exported mainly to Western Europe and China.
Willi Elbe's investment will open 150 jobs in Bulgaria.
