May 20 (SeeNews) - Montenegro's state-run motorway operator Monteput said on Monday that it has opened a 130,000 euro ($141,350) tender for the development of a conceptual design for the construction of a 31-km expressway connecting Danilovgrad and Niksic.
The aim is to define the best route for the road, considering various factors like environmental impact and technical feasibility, Monteput said in a tender notice.
The bidding deadline expires on June 17.
The expressway will provide a high-quality traffic connection between Danilovgrad and Niksic, and improve the traffic connection between Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina. In addition, the new road will enable a better connection with the Bar-Boljare highway and the Adriatic-Ionian highway, which will improve regional connectivity and economic development.
The Bar-Boljare motorway will link Montenegro's Adriatic port of Bar to the country's border with Serbia in the north.
