The Czech company has so far invested 80 million euro ($88 million) in its two existing biomass-fired cogeneration plants in Croatia, according to the media report.
In December, GEEN opened its second CHP plant in the Adriatic country - in Zupanja, eastern Croatia. The plant, with 4.96 MW electric capacity and 8 MW heat capacity, will produce 40 GWh of electricity per year, burning wood chips and pellets.
GEEN's first biomass-fired plant in Croatia started operations in Benkovac, in Zadar county, in October 2018.
GEEN Holding is an energy, engineering and investment group comprising 31 companies. It is oriented towards developing renewable energy sources and is present in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia and Georgia.
