ANKARA (Turkey), January 28 (SeeNews) – French utility GDF Suez has agreed with the Turkish government to build a 1,320 megawatt (MW) thermal power plant in the southern Turkish province of Adana, the company said.
The agreement is part of a memorandum of understanding for cooperation on future energy initiatives in Turkey, signed on Monday, GDF Suez said in a statement on Monday.
The company is part of a consortium that will build the 4,400 MW Sinop nuclear power project in northern Turkey. It also has interests in some 1,250 MW of power capacity in Turkey through the Baymina and Unimar gas-fired power plants and also owns local gas distribution company Izgaz.
