January 3 (SeeNews) - The European Commission said on Monday it will grant 319 million euro ($362 million) to support Croatia's recovery following the devastating series of earthquakes in December 2020 and January 2021.
“This financial support will help finance the restoration of key infrastructure in the field of energy, water and wastewater, telecommunications, transport, health and education,” the Commission said in a press release. The grant will go to the Sisak-Moslavina, Karlovac and Zagreb counties.
The financing comes from the European Union Solidarity Fund (EUSF). Following the quakes, the Commission allocated about 684 million euro in EUSF support to Croatia in 2020.
