February 21 (SeeNews) - New passenger car registrations in Croatia rose by 14.1% on the year in January, to 3,360, the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA) said on Tuesday, quoting provisional figures.
In January, petrol remained the most popular fuel type for newly-registered cars in Croatia, with a market share of 48.6%, followed by hybrid passenger car registrations with a 21.4% market share, ACEA said in a statement.
“In January 2023, the European Union passenger car market grew by 11.3% to 760,041 units, starting the new year on a positive note,” according to the statement. However, this was largely due to an unusually modest base of comparison in 2022, when the lowest January volume on record was reached, it added.
New passenger car registrations in Croatia fell by 4.4% on the year in 2022, to 42,939, ACEA said last month.
