September 13 (SeeNews) - The Croatian government said it has given its consent to state-controlled maritime shipping company Jadrolinija to take out a 51.3 million kuna ($7.7 million/6.9 million euro) loan from Privredna Banka Zagreb (PBZ) to refinance a vessel purchase.
The PBZ loan will be extended for 10 years at a fixed annual interest rate of 1.5%, the government said in a statement on Thursday, adding the credit does not require state guarantees.
The loan will be used to refinance the purchase of the Jelena passenger catamaran, which Jadrolinija has bought for 9.25 million euro ($10.2 million) from its own funds. Jelena has been in operation since October 2018, servicing the Split-Lastovo and the Dubrovnik-Korcula-Hvar-Bol routes, the government said.
Jadrolinija provides maritime liner transportation of passengers and vehicles in the Adriatic sea.
