October 11 (SeeNews) - Croatian hotel operator Jadran said on Wednesday overnight stays at its facilities increased 11% on the year in the first eight months of 2017, while operating income jumped 10% to over 67 million kuna ($10.6 million/8.9 million euro).
Crikvenica-based Jadran operates eight hotels, two car camps and two holiday villages.
During the summer tourist season, Jadran employed over 500 people and recorded 340,000 overnights stays, the hotel operator said in a statement.
Particularly good results were achieved by Jadran's Selce camp, which saw over 100,000 overnights in the eight months through August.
Jadran, which exited bankruptcy three and a half years ago, is majority state-owned.
In the past three years, the hotel operator has raised the star category of its hotels Omorika and Katarina to four stars, and hotel Slaven and the Selce camp site to three stars. Jadran also opened a new 4-star Esplanade hotel in August.
