July 17 (SeeNews) - Croatian shipyard Brodotrogir said on Tuesday it completed the construction an ARC7 ice-class gas condensate tanker.
The Croatian company built the front section of the ship, 167 m in length, under a deal concluded in July 2016 with Finland's Arctech Helsinki Shipyard, Brodotrogir said in a statement.
The tanker, which will be able to break ice with a thickness of up to 1.6 metres, is being built under the supervision of certification agency Bureau Veritas and the Russian Maritime Register of Shipping, Brodotrogir said.
In February 2017, Brodotrogir said it launched the construction of the front section of the vessel under a 28 million euro ($32.8 million) contract with Arctech Helsinki Shipyard.
The rear section of the tanker will be built by a shipyard in Finland.
Brodotrogir is owned by local company Kermas Energija.
