October 3 (SeeNews) - Croatia received a revenue of 3.850 billion euro ($ 4.04 billion) from visiting foreign tourists in the first half of 2023, up 21.4% on the year, the tourism ministry said.
According to central bank figures, revenue from foreign tourists in the second quarter of this year amounted to 3.180 billion euro, which is more by 494.2 million euro, or 18.4%, compared to the like period of last year, the tourism ministry said in a press release on Saturday.
"Following the record-high 2022 in terms of revenue from foreign tourists, in 2023 we mark even better results," tourism minsiter Nikolina Brnjac said.
Tourism is a key industry for the Croatian economy, contributing a fifth of the country's GDP.
