November 28 (SeeNews) - Production of electricity in Bulgaria increased by 7.89% on the year to 45,543 GWh from January 1 to November 27, the Electricity System Operator (ESO) said on Monday.
At the same time, year-to-date domestic power consumption edged down by an annual 1.71% to 34,091 GWh, ESO said in its weekly newsletter.
According to the data, Bulgaria's power trade surplus surged by 52% to 11,452 GWh in the period under review.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission network increased by 27% to 1,444 GWh. Meanwhile, the volume of renewable energy in the distribution grid climbed by 16% to 2,042 GWh.
The output of hydro power plants decreased by 24% to 3,504 GWh.
