January 25 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s electricity production went up 24% year-on-year to 3,790 GWh from January 1 to January 23, data by the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO) showed.
Domestic power consumption rose by an annual 2.21% in the period under review, reaching 2,913 GWh, according to data published in ESO's weekly newsletter.
Bulgaria's power trade surplus soared by an annual 350% to 876 GWh in the review period.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission system rose by 39% on the year to 105 GWh. The volume of renewable energy in the distribution system grew by 37% to 135 GWh.
The output of hydro power plants fell 23% year-on-year to 325 GWh.
