SOFIA (Bulgaria), November 28 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria’s power output rose by an annual 1.72% to 40,503 GWh in the January 1 – November 26 period, according to data of the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO).
Electricity consumption increased by 4.43% on the year to 35,483 GWh during the review period, data published on the ESO website shows.
Power exports fell 14.06% year-on-year to 5,020 GWh in the period under review. Bulgaria halted electricity exports from January 13 to February 9 to meet increased domestic demand amid harsh winter weather conditions.
Renewable energy in the transmission system increased by 11.24% on the year to 1,168 GWh in the January 1 – November 26 period, while renewable energy in the distribution system grew by 2.27% to 1,680 GWh.
