SOFIA (Bulgaria), December 6 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria’s power output rose by an annual 1.63% to 41,494 GWh in the January 1 – December 3 period, according to data of the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO).
Electricity consumption increased by 4.19% on the year to 36,353 GWh during the review period, data published on the ESO website shows.
Power exports fell 13.44% year-on-year to 5,141 GWh in the period under review. Bulgaria halted electricity exports from January 13 to February 9 to meet increased domestic demand amid harsh winter weather conditions.
Renewable energy in the transmission system increased by 11.29% on the year to 1,199 GWh in the January 1 – December 3 period, while renewable energy in the distribution system grew by 1.78% to 1,708 GWh.
