March 27 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian municipally-owned public transport company Trolleybus Transport - Vratsa said that it has ranked first an offer from local Avto Engineering Holding Group in a tender for a contract for supply of nine trolleybuses.
Avto Engineering Holding Group offered to supply the nine trolleybuses for a price of 9.1 million levs ($5.1 million/4.7 million euro), VAT excluded, Trolleybus Transport - Vratsa said in a notice.
According to documents published previously by Trolleybus Transport - Vratsa, Avto Engineering Holding Group will supply Energis Metropolis - MP trolleybuses.
The other bidder in the tender - Excelor Holding Group, was disqualified as its offer did not meet the technical requirements, according to Trolleybus Transport - Vratsa. Excelor Holding Group proposed to deliver Youngman trolleybuses.
According to commercial register data, Avto Engineering Holding Group is fully owned by a private individual - Yulian Dimov. The company booked revenue of 8.7 million levs and a net profit of 335,000 levs in 2018, according to its most recent financial statement.
Excelor Holding Group is fully owned by private individual Ilka Kamenova. Excelor Holding Group generated operating revenue of 22.4 million levs and a net profit of 282,000 levs in 2018, according to its financial statement.
Trolleybus Transport - Vratsa first launched the tender in July 2019, but the procedure was subsequently cancelled in August and restarted in December.
The tender is part of a larger project for the upgrade of Vratza's ageing public transport fleet, which also envisages the purchase of 13 electric buses. Both contracts will benefit from EU funding under Operational Programme Environment 2014-2020.
