April 13 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian managed IT services provider Telelink Business Services Group (TBS Group) [BUL:TBS] said it is part of a consortium that won a government contract worth 25.8 million levs ($14.3 million/13.2 million euro) to develop a nationwide e-learning school platform.
A subsidiary of Telelink Business Services Group signed a contract with the consortium, named Digital Backpack DZZD, under which the unit will provide services worth around 11 million levs. The agreement falls within the scope of the contract which was awarded by the country's ministry of education and science, the managed services provider said in a stock exchange filing on Tuesday.
"Years of work, experience and close cooperation with education professionals have allowed us to become part of one of the most important transformation projects of the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science – the Unified Platform for Electronic Education. With this platform, all teachers in the country will be able to create quality digital educational content through the intuitive tools it provides – share the content with their students to be used by all across the country," Telelink Business Services said in a separate statement published on its website.
Bulgaria's education ministry announced last week that it will invest 24.4 million levs over the next three years in the e-learning platform, which is set to go live on the its cloud as of the new school year starting in September.
