November 24 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Kozloduy nuclear power plant said it has awarded a 1.3 million levs ($724,600/644,200 euro) contract for the replacement of portal monitors at the plant to local automation company EnergoService following a tender procedure.
Portal monitors are electronic devices for measuring possible radioactive contamination of personnel and equipment leaving a nuclear facility.
The company will be responsible for preparation of a working project, delivery of equipment and materials, disassembly of the old and assembly of eight new portal monitors for radiation control, and commissioning of the equipment, as well as necessary personnel training, the contracting authority said in a notice on Tuesday.
The deal was signed on November 18. Five bidders submitted offers for the tender. Price was the sole criterion for the bids' ranking.
Founded in 2005, EnergoService works in the field of nuclear automation, safety and radiation protection, according to its website.
