SOFIA (Bulgaria), August 15 (SeeNews) – Bulgaria’s jobless rate fell to 6.7% in July, from 6.8% the month before, the government's employment agency said on Tuesday.
Year-on-year, the country’s unemployment rate fell by 1.5 percentage points on July, the employment agency said in a statement.
The number of unemployed people registered with the labour offices countrywide fell by an annual 17.6% to 220,884 as at end-July. On a monthly comparison basis, the number of unemployed people dropped by 3,283 in July.
The number of people who found a job in July totalled 18,300.
There were 15,698 registered job vacancies in July. The highest number of vacancies was registered in manufacturing – 4,933.
Bulgaria, a nation of some 7.1 million, had an active population of 4.3 million as at end-2016, according to the country's statistical office, NSI.
