October 10 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's trade deficit decreased to 2.88 billion levs ($1.6 billion/1.5 billion euro) in the first eight months of 2019, from 4.4 billion levs in the like period of last year, the statistical office, NSI, said on Thursday.
Exports (FOB) increased 3.8% year-on-year in the period under review, reaching 37.9 billion levs, while imports (CIF) edged down 0.4% to 40.8 billion levs, NSI said in a statement.
In August alone, Bulgaria's exports rose by 1.1% on the year to 4.8 billion levs, while imports decreased by 6.2% to 4.7 billion levs.
