April 11 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's house prices rose 5.5% year-on-year in the fourth quarter of 2018, slowing down from a 6.3% annual increase in the third quarter, Eurostat said on Thursday.
Slovenia recorded the highest increase of house prices in the fourth quarter in the EU - 18.2% year-on-year, Eurostat said in a statement.
House prices in Romania and Croatia rose 5.3% and 4.7%, respectively.
Prices of new dwellings rose by 6.1% on the year in the October-December period, while prices of existing ones grew 5.3%, the Bulgarian National Statistical Institute (NSI) said last month.
Compared with the third quarter of 2018, house prices in Bulgaria were 0.9% higher in the fourth quarter. Prices of new dwellings edged down to 0.1% compared to the third quarter, while prices of existing ones increased by 1.4%.
