December 2 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) said it approved a 9.8% increase in the wholesale price of natural gas for December - to 102,33 levs ($59.2/52.3 euro) per MWh.
The increase is a result of rising prices on international gas hubs in the last days of November, the energy regulator said in a statement on Wednesday.
The price applicable for November was 93.19 levs per MWh.
The increase is a result of rising prices on international gas hubs in the last days of November, the energy regulator said in a statement on Wednesday.
Last month, public gas supplier Bulgargaz proposed to EWRC to approve a 3.2% increase in the wholesale gas price to 96.14 levs per MWh, to be valid for the month of December.
Bulgarian energy regulations require Bulgargaz to set the gas price monthly. EWRC has the final say on the proposed changes in the wholesale price, at which the state-owned company sells natural gas to end-suppliers and customers directly connected to its transmission network.
