September 3 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian state-owned railway company BDZ Passengers said on Friday it has received two more new Siemens Smartron locomotives under a deal for the purchase of 15 such locomotives for a total price of 82.7 million levs ($50.2 million/42.3 million euro)
With the latest delivery completed, BDZ Passengers has received 13 of the 15 locomotives under the deal thus far, the company said in an e-mailed statement.
The remaining two new locomotives will be delivered by the end of this year.
Last year, BDZ Passengers signed a 55.5 million levs deal for the purchase of 10 Siemens locomotives, followed by a second 27.2 million levs contract which envisages the delivery of 5 more locomotives by the end of 2021.
BDZ Passengers is part of state-owned railway group BDZ Holding.
