May 21 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's AES-3C Maritza East I, the operator of coal-fired power plant AES Galabovo, said on Monday that it has signed a 3.9 million levs ($2.3 million/2.0 million euro) deal for the supply of gas oil with local company DMV.
The deal was signed on May 15, AES-3C Maritza East I said in a notice.
Ruse-based DMV was the only company which submitted an offer in the public procurement procedure for the contract.
AES-3C Maritza East I is part of U.S.-based energy conglomerate AES Corporation. In 1999, a unit of AES Corporation purchased the majority interest in the Maritza East 1 project, renamed AES Galabovo in 2009. The company completed the full acquisition of the 600 MW thermal power plant from Ireland's Consolidated Continental Commerce Limited (3C) in 2005.
