SOFIA (Bulgaria), August 6 (SeeNews) – Bulgarian president Rosen Plevneliev dissolved on Wednesday the country's parliament and decreed October 5 as the date on which early parliamentary elections will be held, his press office said.
Plevneliev has also decreed a caretaker government headed by Georgi Bliznashki, the press office said in a statement.
Last month, the country's Socialist-led cabinet of prime minister Plamen Oresharski resigned after the main political parties agreed to hold early general elections in the aftermath of the May ballot for members of the European Parliament which reshuffled the local political landscape.
