November 14 (SeeNews) - All indices on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) opened lower on Monday, after the candidate of main opposition Socialists won the presidential elections' run-off by a landslide ahead of the candidate of governing centre-right GERB party.
With 99.33% of the votes counted, former Air Force commander Rumen Radev backed by the Socialists won 59.35%, while GERB's candidate, parliament speaker Tsetska Tsacheva came in second with 36.17% in Sunday's elections, according to data from the central election commission.
On Sunday, prime minister and leader of the ruling party GERB Boyko Borissov said that he would submit the resignation of the government in the first working day of this week.
BSE's blue-chip SOFIX index fell 1.26% to 532.34 as at 9:18 CET on Monday, recording the largest drop among the BSE indices.
All of the blue-chip constituents except hydraulic equipment manufacturer M+S Hydraulic [BUL:5MH] opened in negative territory.
Central Cooperative Bank [BUL:4CF] led the blue chip decliners, falling by 5.10% to 1.172 levs ($0.647/0.60 euro) in early trade. M+S Hydraulic shares traded without change from Friday's closing price.
Diversified conglomerate Chimimport [BUL:6C4] generated the largest turnover of 20,850 shares by 9:18 CET on Monday.
Stock turnover was 83,364 levs.
