July 16 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Food Safety Agency announced that it has confirmed a new outbreak of African swine fever - the first in domestic pigs in the Vratsa province.
The Food Safety Agency also confirmed a new case in the Pleven region, which is currently most affected by the disease, the agency said in a statement on Monday.
The agency has set up a three-kilometre prevention zone and a ten-kilometre surveillance zone around the two locations.
Last week, Bulgaria's government said that it has approved a 3.7 million levs ($2.1 million/1.9 million euro) transfer to the agriculture ministry's budget for urgent measures aimed at preventing the spread of African swine fever in the country.
