SEGA
- Residential property deals in Bulgaria fell 37.27% on the year in the first nine months of 2009 real estate consultants Foros said in a report. Seventy percent of the purchases of new apartments were financed from the buyers' own money through September as a result of tougher lending conditions imposed by banks since the beginning of this yeat, while over 80% of the deals sealed in 2008 were financed from bank credits, Foros expert Dobromir Ganev said.
TRUD
- Two right-wing parties in the Bulgarian parliament, Democrats for Strong Bulgaria (DSB) and Ataka, on Monday called separately for the impeachment of President Georgi Parvanov for alleged abuse of funds from the Oil-for-Food Programme in Iraq and alleged intervention in the work of the judicial system. If and when an impeachment motion against the president is submitted to parliament, it will need the approval of at least 161 of the 240 members of the chamber to pass. DSB and Ataka together control 36 seats in parliament. In Bulgaria, the head of state can be brought to justice only in cases of high treason and breach of the constitution.

- British consultants Crown Agents, hired by Bulgaria’s ex finance minister Milen Velchev to supervise the customs service, cost Bulgarian taxpayers nearly 10.8 million British pounds (12 million euro) in the 2004 - 2006 period, according to the contract for their hiring declassified on Monday. The contract will expire in June 2010. Bulgarian customs revenue nearly trebled to seven billion levs between November 2001, when Crown Agents started operating in Bulgaria, and 2006.
- Office owners in Sofia are luring existing and potential tenants with various bonuses that were unthinkable a year ago, like arranging the office space for the clients or providing transport for company employees to and from the office buildings.
