PARI
- The Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development at the European Commission will provide Bulgaria with additional 37 million euro next year for financing projects in the renewable energy sector, water management and diary production. The aid is part of the 200 billion euro package for alleviating the impact of the global crisis adopted by the bloc in December last year.
- Sixty million levs for the development of a pipeline for transit of natural gas between Bulgaria and Serbia will be provided under the EU’s Regional Development operational programme.
- An industrial zone worth 1.653 million levs will be built near the city of Stara Zagora, in southern Bulgaria. The project is financed under the European pre-accession aid programme PHARE.
DNEVNIK
- The Bulgarian government may use the country’s fiscal reserve in the beginning of next year to repay part of its debt to businesses, the daily quoted Finance Minister Simeon Dyankov as saying. The majority of the debt is owed to construction companies. By the end of February next year the state will repay 340 million levs to companies.
- Thirty-three million euro under the EU’s Regional Development operational programme were allocated for the creation of a holding company that will finance the development of business parks, commercial areas, sport halls, markets, and parking lots in Bulgaria. The fund will become operational in 2011.
