SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), February 5 (SeeNews) – The railway operator of Bosnia's Federation entity, Zeljeznice FBiH, said in a statement seen on the company's website on Wednesday, that its EBITDA rose to a record-high 22.7 million marka ($12.8 million/11.6 million euro) in 2019, from 19 million marka in the previous year.
"Our success is based on a constant increase in income and decrease of operating costs," the general manager of the company, Enis Dzafic, said in a statement.
The company's operating income totalled 117.6 million marka in 2019, up 1.9 million marka on 2018, while operating costs decreased to 94.9 million marka from 96.6 million marka.
In 2019, Zeljeznice FBiH transported 9.1 million tonnes of cargo, up 5,000 tonnes on 2018. The company carried 496,844 passengers last year, up from 413,471 a year earlier.
The Federation is one of the two autonomous entities that make up Bosnia and Herzegovina. The other one is the Serb Republic.
