August 28 (SeeNews) - The government of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Federation said it will provide 12.9 million marka ($6.6 million/6.1 million euro) in subsidies to households for energy efficiency projects.
A total of 2,600 households will receive subsidies to install thermal insulation, replace windows or doors and improve heating systems in their homes, the entity's government said in a press release last week.
The Federation's government is funding the subsidy scheme using finances provided by the European Union aimed at mitigating the negative socio-economic impact of the energy crisis, the press release read.
The EU granted Bosnia 70 million euro ($75.6 million) in 2022 to help the country mitigate the energy crisis.
The Federation is one of two autonomous entities that form Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Serb Republic is the other entity.
