TIRANA (Albania), August 6 (SeeNews) – Albania's state-owned power distributor OSHEE said on Monday it reduced losses on the electricity transmission and distribution network by 3.2 percentage points year-on-year to 25.4% in the first half of 2018.
OSHEE collected 33.4 billion leks ($307.4 million/265.7 million euro) from electricity bills in January-June, up 4.7% on the first half of 2017, it said in a statement.
In 2017, the company’s losses on the transmission and distribution network decreased by 1.63 percentage points to 26.41%.
Albania produces 98% of its electricity at hydro power plants (HPP). Most of it is generated at three power plants along the Drin River, in the northern part of the country.
