September 17 (SeeNews) - Passenger traffic at Zagreb Airport rose 2.4% year-on-year in January-August to more than 2.276 million, Aeroports de Paris (ADP), which is a shareholder in the company operating Croatia's biggest international airport, said on Tuesday.
In August alone, Zagreb's Franjo Tudjman Airport handled 376,026 passengers, up 0.9% on the year, ADP said in an emailed statement.
In the past 12 months, Zagreb Airport saw a 3.3% rise in passenger numbers to just over 3.389 million, ADP added.
ADP and Turkey's TAV Airports hold stakes of 21% and 15%, respectively, in airport operator Zagreb Airport International Company (ZAIC).
Under a 30-year concession contract for the management of the airport and the construction of a new terminal, signed in 2012 between the Croatian government and ZAIC, the remaining shareholders in ZAIC are France's Bouygues Batiment International with 20.8%, EU-backed Marguerite Fund with 20.8%, IFC with 17.6%, and Croatia's Viadukt with 5.1%.
