May 17 (SeeNews) - Austria's Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) said on Tuesday its pre-tax profit from operations in North Macedonia rose 26.4% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2022, to 300,000 euro ($315,500).
VIG's total gross written premiums (GWP) in North Macedonia rose 5.3% on the year to 6.9 million euro, the company said in a quarterly financial report.
The premiums of the motor third party liability sub-segment increased by an annual 7% to 3.2 million euro in the quarter under review.
Casco premiums grew 8% to 400,000 euro, whereas other property insurance premiums edged up 2.6% to 3.2 million euro.
Health insurance premiums added 56% year-on-year to about 100,000 euro.
Elsewhere in Southeast Europe, VIG operates in Romania, Serbia, Moldova, Bulgaria, Albania, Kosovo, and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
