November 29 (SeeNews) - The Vienna Insurance Group (VIG) said on Wednesday its profit before tax from operations in Macedonia has increased by an annual 26.4% to 1.9 million euro ($2.2 million) in the first nine months of 2017, despite recording lower total gross written premiums.
Total gross written premiums in Macedonia fell by 5.5% year-on-year to 20.0 million euro in the January-September period, VIG said in an interim financial statement.
Motor third party liability (MTPL) premiums grew 10.4% on the year to 8.7 million euro, while Casco premiums fell by an annual 24.1% to 1.5 million euro.
Other property premiums decreased 13.1% on the year to 9.8 million euro.
VIG is present on the Macedonian insurance market through Osiguruvanje Makedonija, Winner Osiguruvanje and Winner Life.
