November 28 (SeeNews) - Danish wind turbine maker Vestas Wind Systems said on Thursday it received an order to supply turbines with a total capacity of 23 megawatts (MW) to Turkey's Tefirom Group.
Vestas will supply, erect and commission seven V112-3.3 MW wind turbines at the Bakras wind park in Turkey, it said in a statement.
The equipment is to be delivered in the first quarter of next year, while commissioning is planned for the April-June period.
The order also includes a VestasOnline Business SCADA solution and full-scope service agreement for five years.
The Bakras wind park already uses five V90-3.0 MW turbines.
The extension will bring Tefirom's wind power capacity to 65 MW - all powered by Vestas turbines.
Once the new turbines are operational, the Bakras facility will be able to generate over 120 gigawatt hours annually.
Vestas has been doing business in Turkey for nearly three decades. Since 1984 it has delivered in excess of 600 MW of wind power capacity to the area.
Tefirom is active in construction, energy, transport, logistics and education.
